National Women's Check-up Day

Lauryn Takisaki, Health Promotions Specialist, The Institute for Healthy Aging at Keiro

Scheduling an annual physical exam with your health care provider as well as getting certain screening tests, like mammograms, pelvic exams, and colonoscopies can lower your risk of developing health problems and diseases.

Many health problems, such as heart attacks and strokes can be prevented with simple screenings performed by your health care provider. Other health problems and diseases can be controlled and stabilized if they are detected and treated early.

In honor of National Women’s Check-Up day on May 9, schedule a visit with your doctor or nurse practitioner and check out our factsheet.
